College Bound: Scholar Seminar Program
Designed by a college admissions expert and educator, The Application Specialist devised this 6-week and 4-week Scholar Seminar program to enable Rising Sophomores and Rising Juniors to dive deeper into STEM and Social Science topics; cultivate and develop critical and interdisciplinary thinking, essay writing, and problem-solving skills; as well as maximize their college admissions chances.
It is not sufficient to just say you want to study/major in "biology" on your college application. What about biology? What specific topics interest you and why? What have you done to pursue this specific interest? The College Bound: Scholar Seminar Program helps high school students answer these questions and prepares them to present their answers in their application essays.
Engage critically with important STEM and Social Science topics
Improve Essay Writing
Maximize college admissions chances
Explore and dive deeper into academic interest(s)
Discover intended major(s)
Intellectually engage with peers; developing interpersonal skills
What Does this Program Include?
Similar to college seminar courses, students will be assigned weekly readings, essays, and analytical responses. Students will attend 2 seminars/week that are led by The Application Specialist to critically discuss STEM & Social Science topics with peers.
Additionally, The Application Specialist will provide each student with a Profile Assessment & Strategy Report that evaluates their current application profile and recommends strategies to increase their college admissions chances.
*Only students in the 6-week program will complete a Research Project + Presentation
